KERRI GRAFF, PhD, Licensed psychologist

divorce & Co-parenting EXPERT

I believe in the power of new beginnings.

You’re in the right place.

As a licensed psychologist and divorced mom, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I specialize in co-parenting, high-conflict divorce, and child-centered parenting plan design. I help divorcing parents create practical, developmentally informed parenting plans and co-parenting structures that reduce conflict and support their children, not just on paper, but in everyday life.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, advanced training in high-conflict divorce, coercive control, and narcissistic dynamics, and certifications in mediation, co-parenting, and parent coordination, I work at the intersection of psychology and divorce. My role is to help parents move beyond crisis and conflict toward clear, sustainable co-parenting solutions that truly work best for their family.

A Perspective Shaped By Experience

in addition to my professional expertise, I bring lived experience.

I navigated my own high-conflict divorce when my. children were young, followed by years of challenging co-parenting, mediation, and family court involvement. Today, my children are thriving young adults and I have built a bright, fulfilling life with my husband and blended family. This personal journey allows me to understand, on a deep and practical level, what divorcing families are facing, and what it takes to move forward.

My work goes beyond traditional therapy or mediation, helping parents:

  • design child-centered parenting plans that are realistic and sustainable

  • reduce conflict and improve communication

  • navigate high-conflict or emotionally complex dynamics

  • build co-parenting systems that support long-term stability

Whether we are working through your individual healing, co-parenting therapy, parenting plan development, or mediation, my focus is always the same. Helping you create a path forward that supports both you and your children.

Professional Background

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology through the Brooklyn College Scholars Program and my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University at Buffalo. I completed an APA-accredited internship at the University of Delaware Center for Counseling and Student Development, and previously served as staff psychologist at the University at Buffalo Counseling Center and as Director of the Day Treatment Program and therapist at the Renfrew Center of New Jersey.

In 2014, I founded the Ocean Waves Wellness Center, a mind-body wellness practice integrating therapy and wellness services. Following the COVID pandemic, I transitioned to a primarily telehealth model and later rebranded as, “Waves of Divorce” to reflect my specialized focus.

I am a certified family and divorce mediator, a certified co-parenting specialist, a certified parent coordinator, and a certified high conflict divorce coach. I have additional advanced clinician certificates in coercive control and treating narcissistic abuse as well as advanced training in understanding the ongoing needs of families navigating trauma and/or high-conflict divorce.

I am a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York, offering both in-person therapy and telehealth services. I am authorized through PSYPACT to provide telehealth services to clients in more than 40 participating states, supporting families across state lines. My extensive advanced training and personal experiences have shaped my passion in helping others and make me uniquely qualified to help you through all the waves of your divorce.

Outside of work, I love traveling to new places, baking creative desserts, or running along the shore. I truly find peace near the water. Whether it’s the stillness of the lake or the rhythm of the ocean, the sense of movement and change is central to my worldview. While we can’t change the past, we can learn how to navigate what comes next, with greater clarity, strength, and intention.

My work combines emotional support with clear, strategic guidance, so you don’t just feel better, you move forward.

Let’s ride it out together.

How I work
